Objectives of the ICT Wellington Cluster

• Identify issues affecting the ICT sector and impediments to the industry such as government policy or programme weaknesses, skill shortages and infrastructure gaps, and work together to deal with these
• Identify and develop collaborative export and import replacement markets
• Develop a distinct identity and collective marketing collateral
  
• Implement collaborative projects that have been identified
  
  

ICT Wellington Sector Strategies
Key strategies that are required to underpin our projects are:

• Work with local government and businesses to ensure that the Wellington region has a competitive telecommunications infrastructure
• Work with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and other central government agencies to ensure Wellington ICT companies with high growth potential leverage available programmes and assistance and to ensure that the region obtains appropriate support and funding
• Assist member companies to grow in size, revenue and skills
• Assist the ICT Wellington Cluster members to identify business opportunities, promote in offshore export markets, secure collaborative contracts, and develop the capability of sector members and those entering the ICT industry
• Take a leadership role in promoting and advocating on behalf of the ICT Sector
• Encourage effective networking and interaction between ICT and other cluster members in order to promote and grow collaborative projects.
